When I heard rustling in a snowberry bush by a trail at Seattle's Discovery Park I figured it was a bird. Peering into the bush to see if I could get a view, and maybe a shot, of the song sparrow, spotted towhee or Bewick's wren I was pleasantly surprised to see a Townsend's chipmunk munching on under-ripe snowberries. While this species is common in the lowland forests of Western Washington I had never seen one in Seattle before.
