Nome Científico Thamnophilus doliatus (Linnaeus, 1764)
Dominates in the male black color, while in the female it is brownish. However, the male is all barred (due to one of the common names), except for the black uniform of the top of the head, while the female has only side of the striated head. In adult birds, the eye is white with slight yellowish (reddish brown in juveniles). It also keeps the head feathers ruffled much of the time, in a very prominent tuft. It has a length of 16 centimeters.
