During a 2 month road trip my girlfriend and I had many stops. A lot of our destinations were for specific locations however it seemed as the summer progressed the places we expected to surprise us the least ended up surprising us the most. This moment at Moraine Lake in Banff, Alberta was no different. We got up at 5am to beat the crowds and were rewarded with a beautiful early morning exploring the banks of the river with minimal people around. It was nice to enjoy the Lake almost to ourselves. The two of us are constantly striving to push our boundaries and this was one of those get over those fear moments. My girlfriend doesn't trust her balance sometimes but was willing to walk out on this log because she wanted a better view of the submerged rocks. The pieces all came together after she moved out into the space. It's one of those mornings I will never forget.

What a wonderful shot, and great backstory! It has been many years since I have been to this very lake. Thanks for taking me back!
