I have always struggled with the negative self "talk". I am a firm believer that nobody else could ever be as cruel to me as I am to myself. Its the saddest thing, to cut oneself down to nothing. I like to think of it as a garden. If you do not water it, then it can't thrive. When I say negative things to myself, I am not watering the garden. The more I tear myself apart the more starved my garden is. Eventually I will become what I perceive myself to be. The thing with negativity is that it festers, like an infection and needs to be cut out-treated so that the host may live. As with any garden, it takes work to grow. Negative thoughts and patterns normally don't change overnight. The ground has to be tilled, seeds have to be planted, and weeds picked. Most importantly, it has to be watered regularly, and there needs to be patience as it starts to grow. Its not always easy, but the harvest is worth it.

Thank you! I took a profile shot on a blank white wall, then added the flowers and water can. Then I used a vintage canvas texture to fill the background.
