We used to have to drive over this bridge, one lane, when I was growing up. Trains had the right of way, which meant cars were stuck on either side waiting. Then your side might not be next in line, so more waiting. :- Lol.

Thank you very much, Hyper :) Much appreciated... do you want to know what's on the other side (hears Adele in my head, lol)?

A small town called Mission, as the RC Oblate Fathers set up there to convert the local Aboriginal Sto:lo peoples. This rail line connects to the Can. Pacific rail line, which goes east-west. So a train could head east off this track out through the Cascade Mts, and on across Canada, or west into Vancouver. I grew up in Mission :)

Striking photograph! Thanks also for the description. I've never seen a one lane bridge that combines car and train traffic. How unique, just like your amazing composition.

Thanks so much, and sorry I didn't respond sooner, just found this comment. Well, we are talking 60 yrs ago ;) A small town, out in the country. A proper vehicle bridge wasn't constructed until 1973.
