The hummingbirds are one of my favorite birds.. They are so tiny yet their spirits are huge..This one here is young male Ruby Throated Hummingbird. Although he has not yet his ruby throat, you can tell it is a young male by what birders call his five clock shadow in his neck feathers : ) This is a rare view of his *On Guard* stance.. He does this to ward off all other hummingbirds as a warning not to come near his nectar or there may be a chase & a fight.
