I took this photo in a professional studio in Moscow. My good friend and fellow photographer Maria wanted to transform into a 'retro-style lady' and this picture is a rare chance to see her in front of a camera but not behind it.Time
The session was happening indoors so time of day did not really matter. However, I remember it was about 5 p.m. local timeLighting
We have just graduated from photography school and were very keen to do everything right :). So we used one of classical lighting scheme with two sources.Equipment

We created a casino-like scenery and were thinking about the next scene while Maria was patiently waiting for our decision about it playing with cigarette folder in her hand. Time was going one and she was getting more and more bored. Suddenly one of our team noticed what face she made and screamed "freeze!". This allowed me to take this shot.Editing

In former times I used to carry 10kg backpack full of various stuff. Eventually I came to understanding that I can achieve not less with smaller volume (and weight!) of gear that I have with me. For now my "traveller's set" looks as follows: Nikon D800E, Nikkor 28-105 f3.5-4.5, Sigma 70-300 f4.0-5.6, Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f2.0 and Zeiss Planar T 85mm f1.4.Feedback
Get together with your good friends, develop a concept (it was 'retro casino' in this case), go to a studio and have fun!
