Denali Highway lake

This small stream is a few miles east of Denali National Park on Denali Highway.

I was fortunate enough to capture a full moon setting over the Sawtooth Mountains as the sun was rising.

We were floating on the Chilkat River near Haines, Alaska when this one flew into the tree in front of us.

This Bald Eagle is in Zoo Boise and was busy preening himself. The photo was one of many taken, but the only keeper in the group.

Location

I took this photo on a trip through Dawson City in the Yukon Territory. We were visiting a working gold mine and this little stream was coming out of the side of a cut in the mountain.

Time

This was about mid morning.

Lighting

The day was overcast and cool.

Equipment

I used a Fuji Film Finepix S1.

Inspiration

I was looking for interesting things to see in the area and wandered away from the tour guide to get this shot.

Editing

I used Easy HDR to bring out the color.

In my camera bag

At this time I didn't have anything special with me except spare batteries and SD cards. I have since added ND filters.

Feedback

Look for anything unusual and take lots of shots. It doesn't matter how may get thrown away for the one keeper.
