Behind The Lens

Location
What can I say, this place needs no introduction. St Paul's cathedral has to be one of the most photographed buildings in the world. What a fantastic building it is.
Time
I'd been out with a friend shooting around London for the day. We were just heading home along south bank past Tate Modern and opposite St. Paul's. Who can't resist a photo of this place, expecially when the sky was as crazy as this.
Lighting
It had been quite a wet dull day but as the sun was about to go down the low cloud moved revealing some fantastic large clouds behind it.
Equipment
This is a very long exposure photo using a 16 stop filter. A tripod is a must for such photography as is a remote for the shutter release. It was taken in my Nikon D600.
Inspiration
It's a place I've taken many photos but it was the sky that drew me to take this photo on this day.
Editing
The photo has been converted to monochrome with a little dodge and burning applied.
In my camera bag
I'm currently using a D810 and zeiss prime lenses. I'm currently away again and travelling light. I have a Befree tripod, D810, 16 stop filter and a new Viogtlanger 20mm lens to try out.
Feedback
After rain the sky can produce some epic clouds, so don't be afraid to get out there and get wet.
