Behind The Lens

Location

We were shooting at the beach and went into a path to get out of the sun. I decided to try something different using natural light, and came up with this.

Time

It was in the afternoon during the summer, which gets pretty hot in Florida.

Lighting

The natural lighting and the trees that light the iris look amazing. I like it better than studio lights.

Equipment

I shot freehand with a Nikon D7200 and no flash. I was using an 18-70 Nikon lense.

Inspiration

I wanted to do something similar to the National Geographic look but with my own twist.

Editing

I used Adobe photo shop and Portrait Pro. The original had blue eyes, which I also use, but I decided to do a brown look to go with wrap.

In my camera bag

I normally carry all my lenses and a tripod for just in case. I also bring a reflector in case i need to bounce some light.

Feedback

Shooting manual is a must. Also, you need to adjust camera for shooting in the shadows to balance with the light form the eyes.
