Location
This was from a photo shoot at the beach in Vero Beach Florida with a model. It was very hot and decided to cool off in the shade.Time
It was approaching the evening time and we decided to get some shade and cool down, and then decided to improvise with a couple ideas on the eyes. It's a simple scarf that was wrapped around and then cropped in.Lighting
I wanted a nice reflection in the eyes, so I had her look toward the opening in the trees.Equipment
I shot with a Nikon D7200 and an 18-140mm lense and a Speedlight SB-910. No tripod was used.Inspiration
I was trying to create an image similar to ones I've seen online. I've heard that the eyes are a window to the soul.Editing
I use Adobe CS5 and Portrait Pro 15 to post edit the fine tuning. Very little was edited. Only fine tuned. I prefer natural lighting and fill flash. Anyone can edit a photo until the original is lost. I prefer the old art of creating a masterpiece without a lot of editing. In my camera bag
I always have my D7200 and 3 different lenses handy, along with flash and reflectors. My case is a hard case for durability. I like to be prepared without carrying everything. You can have too much.Feedback
Always make sure the focus is on the eyes, and watch the aperture. You don't want too shallow a dept of field.
