They say an elephant always remembers, and there is great truth to this: they possess some of the best memories in the animal kingdom, and also some of the most complex emotions and social structures. As I looked into this elephant's eye - captured here in sharp detail during a unique and very privileged close encounter - I could almost see the years and memories etched into his face - each telling a story of ages, places, and wild encounters I could only picture in my wildest dreams.
