Bibron's Gecko (Chondrodactylus bibronii) is a common resident of the Klein Karoo of South Africa. They are seen frequently in and around human dwellings as they are attracted to the sound of insect swarms around outdoor lights. Though he sits on an artificial substrate beside a pool, note how his scales and colouring mimic the surface upon which he sits - a testament to the incredible adaptive range of his camouflage.
