Location
This photo was taken on the gardens of the Château de Maisons. It was the end of July, but there were so many yellow leaves on the floor that after a few attempts to photograph throwing leaves in the air I decided to turn my attention to the floor.Time
This was actually a random picture. I was pretty tired at this time since I've been walking the whole day. It was around 8 pm on the 26th of July, there was still a lot of light but a bit dimmed by the trees around the place of the picture. It gave a very chill and relaxed mood.Lighting
It's all natural light. There were a lot of trees around that place so the light didn't came homogeneously, I just crouched and tried to make it look pleasing on the foreground and middleground while adding some interesting lights on the background.Equipment
This was shot on a Samsung NX300M, with an 18-55mm f/5.6 lens. No other equipment.Inspiration
I love taking close-up pictures, there is so much hidden in plain sight too small to really appreciate. The shades of color, the different textures, the feeling that such small objects go unobserved in this enormous world... it's fascinating. I saw these little leaves popping under this branch and thought that the colors and way the branches were framing the image was so beautiful. I got myself to ground level and shoot. The way the colors complemented and elevated each other really got me happy with the picture.Editing
The post-processing consisted basically in messing with the highlights and shadows trying to achieve a balance that i felt contempt with. I also gave it a bit of a magenta tint to go with the cool mood of the picture. In my camera bag
I'm a amateur photographer. My bag consists in my Samsung NX300M, my 18-55mm lens, my flash and some memory cards. I also own a tripod but I rarely use it in photography because I like to capture random moments.Feedback
Change your perspective. While you're looking for the object of the picture, take notice of captivating backgrounds then start looking for the small things. Go for objects that thrive on colors or texture, that call for action or just evoke a feeling. No matter what light you have, there is always a small piece waiting for the perfect perspective to be captured. Enjoy these little adventures.
