Thank you! I appreciate your thoughts. Remember John Wayne in "Flying Tigers"?

Location
This image was taken in the air museum at Palm Springs, CA. Great place to shoot older types of aircraft!Time
Image was taken inside of a really large metal building with artificial lighting. So, in this case, time of day is meaningless (IMHO)Lighting
Lighting was very even and soft --- no hard shadows.Equipment
Canon 5D MKII. Don't remember the lens. No flash - no tripod. Use the equipment you have - don't worry or concern yourself with what others use.Inspiration
The Curtis P40 Warhawk has intrigued me since I was a child. I remember watching the (black & white) movie starring John Wayne - "THE FLYING TIGERS" to this day. I think the movie was filmed in about 1942. The P40 saw action against the Japanese Empire in China (used by the American Volunteers Group or AVG) as well as elsewhere throughout the Pacific Theater. Also, it was used in the Battle of Britain (by the English RAF) and in the north Africa campaigns against the National Socialist Party (NAZI).Editing
Lots of post! You do whatever it takes to achieve the feelings you are striving to convey. Darkening the back ground - sharpening - saturation - I don't recall because I don't keep a list of what techniques I use. Just use what you know and constantly LEARN new stuff. In my camera bag
Canon 5DSR and a second Canon 5DSR set up for HDR only. 13mm, 16-28mm, 24-70mm, 20-200mm, 400mm and 1.4x converter. Lots of fully charged batteries, spot light meter, sturdy tripod (and wife that gets to carry most of this cause I'm shooting :&bt;)Feedback
Look into your feelings - use your photo skills and knowledge to convey pictorially what you're feeling. This is not easy. It is as much of a skill as learning to be an artist. (Regarding myself: I am a self taught artist that humbly uses a camera to evoke emotions.)
