Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my home studio back yard. He was sitting on the edge of the pool.

Time

Crazy how I captured this image as I was looking out our bedroom window. No tripod was needed as I was leaning on the side of the bed using my arm to hold still.

Lighting

I had to angle my composition with the as I wanted the blue in the background to look the sky but actually it's water. It was a bright day and no clouds in the sky.

Equipment

Nikon D300s using 70-200mm VR Nikkor F/2.8 lens ISO 200, 1/125 @ f/11, WB=SUNNY

Inspiration

It was so nice to see him just sitting there for the length of time. He just had to be captured the right way.

Editing

My post-processing is Capture NX2 and Color F/X pro 4

In my camera bag

My bag normally I carry with me is my body Nikon D300s with Tamron 17-50 VC f2.8 and 50mm f 1.4 with 2 flashes Nikon SB-700 with gels just in case and ND filters 8,16 as well as Expo Disc for color balance.

Feedback

I live in Central Valley of Visalia Ca and normally weather is always changing. Sometimes my subjects are just in our backyard. Patience and looking where my shadows fall so I can create something amazing. Plus always having your camera with you no matter what. Keep it clicking
