Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in 'Valley School' reserve forest near Bangalore, India

Time

Taken at dawn

Lighting

Soft natural backlighting from the early morning sun

Equipment

Canon 1100d, 55-250 isll

Inspiration

I was inspired by the intense absorption of the pair of butterflies, which were dancing around in unison from plant to plant

Editing

Sharpening and contrast and saturation were increased, cropped slightly.. All in picasa

In my camera bag

I carry my good ol Canon 1100d, and the dual kit lens, a pentax 50mm f2 smc, along with lens hoods, an nd8 filter, spare card, and remote cable release

Feedback

Keeping a slightly smaller aperture (about f8 or more) is a good thing for close ups, which can be tricky as it cuts down the light, hence getting a balance between the two is important, or could be solved by using external flashes
