Behind The Lens

Location

I was on a training course near to Tower Bridge and The Tower of London and had some time to kill in the morning, so I decided to get the tube to the other side of the river and walk along the South Bank. Heading towards City Hall I saw that the pavement had a water feature in it.

Time

It was around nine AM on a lovely summers morning.

Lighting

Being earlier in the morning the sun was relatively low and that gave great modelling light to the textured stone work.

Equipment

As I was in London for a training course and didn’t have my DSLR with me I used my iPhone 6.

Inspiration

I just thought the whole design of the area was great and I thought if I got the angle right the water feature would make a really interesting image and be abstracted from the normal.

Editing

As it was on my iPhone I used a photo style from Instagram.

In my camera bag

Normally I’d have my Canon 60D, my 24-70mm LII f/2.8 and a Canon 70-200 L f/4.

Feedback

Look at different angles and view points so the perspective in the image is not something most people would see.
