This visit to the Grand Canyon was a long time coming. I have live only 4 hours away for about 30 years and even have driven by it many times. Finally, in February of this year I was able to take some time and capture this natural wonder. This image is taken of the Desert Watchtower at the far east end of the southern rim on my last day there. This place is a must stop and see for anyone visiting the Grand Canyon as there is so much to photograph. I hiked just a few minutes away from the tower to this ledge point. Literally standing on the ledge with my tripod and camera I waited for the people on the bench to move and took this image late in the day.
