Location
This was captured at Gadaladeniya temple - Kandy - Sri Lanka.. Temple is built on a small rock mountain where you can see small ponds in the location. This Blue lotus was there in one of those ponds..Time
Captured this in the noon time while the sun was shining brightly..Lighting
Didn't use any artificial lighting.. Captured this under bright sun shine with the natural light..Equipment
Used my D5200 which is only an amateur camera.. Handheld.. With a high shutter speed 1/800s.. Lens used for capturing this was Nikkor 55-300 DX at 280mm...Inspiration
As the pond was not a big one... Had the opportunity to close up the flower and get a greater look.. This is bit special for me as this is (Blue Lotus) the National flower in Sri Lanka..Editing
I adjusted bit clarity via Adobe Lightroom and bit adjustments with Adobe Photoshop...In my camera bag
I just have my D5200 with Nikkor 18-55 / 55-300 / 50 lenses.. Have a Tripod, Monopod, Few batteries, Cleaning kit, FlasherFeedback
When you take close ups, please use a Tripod as much as possible.. If not you should be able to have high shutter speed... And sometime you may not need to take the whole object.. You just can crop or capture the contrastive part of it..
