Location
This photo was taken at Yosemite on a 5 day field trip with my camera club.Time
This turned put to be one of my favorite pictures of the Yosemite trip. The weather had been stormy all day, but most of our group decided to go and try to get a sunset shot of Yosemite valley from Tunnel View.Lighting
After a mostly stormy day and some early morning snow - we were set up for a sunset shot, just as most people were starting to pack up as nothing was happening - a break in the cloud happen and voila - some great light with dramatic clouds. You had to be quick as the light was gone again in less than 5 minutes.Equipment
This was shot on a Pentax K-3, HD Pentax DA 16-85mm lens, 1/6 sec, F/11, ISO 100, 35mmInspiration
While in Yosemite National Park - this is a must take picture - sunset from Tunnel View.Editing
The photo was shot in camera raw and Adobe Light Room was used for some minor adjustments to the exposure, clarity and saturation levels. Then ON1 for dynamic contrast. In my camera bag
In my camera bag (LowePro Compu Trekker Plus) I have a Pentax K-3 (Yes I am one of the few remaining users of Pentax), various lenses (HD Pentax DA16-85mm, smc Pentax DA* 60-250, smc Pentax DA 50mm, and the above mentioned Samyang 2.8 10mm). A Manfrotto 055 tripod with 498Rc2 ball head. I also carry a circular polarizer, 3 and 6 stop Neutral Density filters, as well as various lens cleaning supplies. Since this trip I have upgraded to a Pentax K-1.Feedback
Be patient - the weather was not cooperating for most of the day but be prepared as you never know when the light will change.
