Sheffield Island is a barrier island off the coast of Norwalk, Connecticut. This is the original lighthouse, built in 1868 and is still in operation today. Part of the island is a nature preserve. The island was heavily affected by hurricane Sandy, but the lighthouse survived the storm intact.
