Location
This is a sculpture located at Vitruvian Park in Addison TexasTime
It was around 6 in the evening.Lighting
I just used natural light. No reflectors or flash.Equipment
Nikon D5200 with a 6.5 mm lens.Inspiration
I looked at the sculpture in many different ways and studied it for a few minutes. I wanted to really connect with the artist and what their vision was for making this sculpture for this particular location. I looked at every different angle and then finally just went ahead and laid underneath it. That's when it connected with me. I saw how the artist connected the sculpture with the buildings. It had nothing to do with its normal setting or position that you can see from standing anywhere and looking at it. It took actually climbing underneath to really understand it. I always like to make things look larger than life or find angles that no one's really explored before. I have this rule, when I don't see the picture I just act like a squirrel and see what happens.Editing
I didn't do much to it. Just a pop of clarity and then I went ahead and removed a wire and a streetlamp that was very distractingIn my camera bag
Nikon D5200, 18-300mm Nikor, a Nikor 18-55mm with a macro lens hood, a 6.5mm fisheye, a Nikor 35 mm lens. Neutral density filter kit, tripod, and a polarizing filter.Feedback
I think my biggest piece of advice is don't be afraid to take a picture of that is different than you might think someone would see something. We all have a different journey in life therefore we should all honor our perspective of the world around us. That's kind of the approach I like to take. I look at things in a different way and try to consider seeing a different angle or a different perspective that perhaps somebody else's never seen. Then I just give myself the permission just to be free with it.
