Behind The Lens

Location

I took it in my office while I was working. My dog has been my service dog for 3 years. We are very close. She stays right by me almost entirely throughout the day. I didn't even have to pose her or anything. She was paying very close attention to every detailed thing I was doing.

Time

It was 5:17 in the afternoon and I was close to finishing my work day.

Lighting

I just set up two umbrellas and left them there for a couple of hours so they would not be something she was curious about. Then, set up the camera, turned it on and just snapped the shot. The lighting though is very simple. I just set up two lights that are single 105 w CFL bulb lights with umbrellas on stands.

Equipment

Nikon D5200, 18 - 300 mm Nikor lens

Inspiration

I love this dog. She has been my working dog for three years. Sometimes, it's just good to acknowledge the things or people or animals around you that are important.

Editing

I did a minor crop. That's about it.

In my camera bag

I carry my camera, one 6.5 mm fisheye, one macro, and one 18 - 300 mm, my flash or maybe two, flash gels for light painting, and a tripod. Of course batteries and all those little extras.

Feedback

I think the main thing to remember is, understand the image you are trying to accomplish before you set up to take it. This turned out exactly how I wanted it to because I had already seen it in my mind.
