Behind The Lens

Location

this was taken at a lake very close to Whistler, BC. Canada

Time

this was likely mid afternoon

Lighting

I was completely in the shade taking this image it was such a beautiful day and so calm the water was reflecting perfectly,

Equipment

This was with my first shoot and point camera. Fujifilm finepix A805 no flash or anything else at that point.

Inspiration

we stopped to look at a beautiful lake and where we walked out of to get to the lake we ended up looking right there it just called to me was such a perfect composition, look forward to going again one day.

Editing

yes not much but i took out some little spots in the water to make it all clear, I love vibrant images so i brought the vibrancy way up. and adjusted the noise level since its an older image. not much else done except very basic edits, likely bringing down the highlights and increasing the shadows.

In my camera bag

currently ( 11 years later I believe) I now have a Canon RP series. i have my 18 to 85 mm lens and my 50 and 35 mm lenses for more portraits. i have a UV filter and ND8 along with some cleaner wipes. spare SD cards and batteries.

Feedback

Keep practicing this image was with a small early point and shoot camera, I just knew the shot was perfect and kept taking them from different angles to see what I liked and what worked and what didnt work. This image wasnt on Manual mode it was just on automatic but at the time I was just starting out and had to teach my self everything. so I started with composition and angles and figuring out what worked and then when i had time I would work on getting to know my camera and tried different settings even for the same pose to see and figure out what worked and what didnt. Keep trying everyone if its something you love dont give up even on hard days they are all learning days !! Something doesnt work out or turn out how you expected try again, and again and again !! till you figure it out it gets easier.
