Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Victoria BC

Time

This was on a small hill at sunset. I actually used a pair of sunglasses at the time as a filter. ( Love golden hour photos !!)

Lighting

As it was a sunset shot to help reduce the glare I had used a pair of sunglasses at the time ( with a little yellow tint to it)

Equipment

this was taken with my Fuji film camera and a pair of sunglasses with a yellow tint ( there are filters that would have worked the same though)

Inspiration

just the pure beauty you could see happening as the sun was setting and I had to stop and capture this sunset. ( chased the sun set a bit for this photo looking for the perfect spot)

Editing

there is no post process for this photo as none were needed.

In my camera bag

I have since switched from the Fuji film camera to my Canon T5i I always carry my nifty 50 mm lens and 35mm and 1 wide angle or zoom lens. I also Carry a few filters with me. either just a UV filter which helps with the haze and glare. as well as my cir-pl filter and an Neutral Density filter. and a few other small filters and little nick nacks

Feedback

Try lots of things go out often and keep trying different setting as well as equipment. Chase the sun and have fun. You won't learn unless you try, so don't give up. find your style. everyone has a different view on the same sunset. sometimes tipping or angling the camera slightly up or down can help. as well as usually trying not to make the center of the photo the sun as it can not only damage your eyes but your camera as well.
