Mac's truck - a 50's era GMC truck sits on the pier in Key West, Florida. Preserved forever.
I saw this and immediately thought of Mater, the tow truck in "Cars". The colors of the items from the store in the background were a wonderful addition to the image.
The back story is this: A few years ago, I moved to Palm Beach county, Florida, USA. As I've been learning more and more about HDR processing,
I decided to head down to Key West one weekend to take photos. I left my house at 4am, to arrive in the middle of the iconic town at 9am. The sun had risen a few hours earlier and the shadows were still long.
I wandered about the town for a while and came across this truck. It was surrounded by things like ropes and other deterrents to keep kids from climbing on the truck.
Since all the stores were still closed and no one was around, I took the opportunity to "stage" this shot without all the distracting items around it. I experimented with different angles and exposures.
This image is composed of three photos. Nikon D7000, 18-200 mm Lens, Circular polarizer, tripod mounted, remote trigger. ISO 500, 22mm, 1-60th sec at F18. Bracketed at +-- 1ev.
I processed the image in Photomatix Pro and then pulled it into Lightroom to clean up just a touch.
