Having grown up on Long Island, I remember watching these magnificent wonders of engineering being built as a kid. My dad took me into the city a few times to watch it grow. As I got old, I always thought of NY and the Twin Towers as one and the same.

The back story here is that I was working in Jersey City at an Internet data center and had to be there in the middle of the night for 6 days in a row. Each evening, I saw this magnificent view and decided to try to capture it. I waited for a night where the air was still. I set up my tripod on the rocks along the shore and took some light readings. Before Digital, I took about 2 rolls of film worth of shots - each different length exposures and different bracketed shots.

I had no idea that this view would be one which would be remembered for such a tragic event.
