I made this portrait of Dewayne Beamon, who recently captured his first world champion boxing belt, in the middle of the boxing club where he is training. He had just come out of the ring and taken his gloves off when I asked him to step in front f my backdrop. The portrait is part of my The Fabric of Raleigh series, which entails making unscripted portraits of people wherever I encounter them.
