Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken of "Markus" the Eagle. He was hit by a logging truck on one of BC's many forestry roads and was taken to the Owls rescue centre in Ladner. He spend many months recovering from a very bad broken wing, but sadly will never be able to fly. The people of Owls fell in love with this character and decided he was perfect for helping educate the public about Eagles and other birds of prey. That is where I met this handsome guy. This picture is of him at an educational open house at Owls rescue centre.

Time

It was mid morning on a raining day.

Lighting

The lighting was great as there was a window directly across from where he was perched, and a solid colour background behind him.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D70s, which was my back up/ adventure camera at the time.

Inspiration

Just look at him. He is so stunning, beautiful, breath-taking. I was able to get so close to him I could see his breathing. I actually have about 30 more close up images. It was magical!

Editing

Nothing really. Only brightness and contrast. This picture is all natural!

In my camera bag

My main camera now a days is a Nikon D2X. You can find in my bag my main camera with a 18-140mm lens, a extra body with my 50mm lens, a 35mm lens, , a 200mm lens and a speed light flash.
