Great quote for such an elegant shot. Love the movement of the eye through the frame.

Location
The photo was taken from Mam Tor hill near Castleton in the High Peak of Derbyshire, England. The road leads to the Hope Valley.Time
Its one of my favorite photos from trip to Mam Tor. Despite cloudy sky and cold wind I was able to make several series of photos for processing in HDR. As you can see, the sun was still quite high by 5 PM or 6 PM creating dramatic rays of light.Lighting
Light plays a major role in this photo. I have seen many images taken from exactly the same place, and none of them looked the same. Both sunrises and sunsets on Mam Tor are doing a remarkable impression on viewers. However, the sun's rays falling from between the clouds gives this photograph unique atmosphere of mystery.Equipment
This photo was shot with my Pentax K50 using standard 18-55mm kit lens. Unfortunately did not I took the tripod with me which is recommended for HDR images under a cloudy sky.Inspiration
The main inspiration for making this image was a road winding between the hills of the valley. From the place where I stood its end was not visible, which was lost somewhere at the bottom of the slope. In addition, rays of light gave it incredible sense of loneliness.Editing
The picture is taken in HDR technique. Photo is composed of three images with different exposure time. For merging images I used Photomatix Essentials software that allows you to adjust the intensity of the HDR effect. The rest of the editing was done using DxO Optics Pro 8. I concentrated mainly on sharpening and adjust color and light. In my camera bag
As an amateur I do not have nearly as packed bag as some of the professionals. In my bag I always have my Pentax K 50 body and few lenses. The most versatile of my lenses is a Pentax-DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL kit lens. Besides, as a wildlife enthusiast I'm taking long Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED. In the bag I always find place for my tiny Pentax-F 50mm F1.7 which provides excellent depth of field. With standard equipment I always take spare batteries. You can never have too much spare batteries! In the near future I plan to purchase a good wide-angle lens that will allow me to do better landscapes.Feedback
For shooting a good landscape photo you need a lot of luck or a lot of patience. At any time of the day the light will be different and will illuminate different parts of the landscape. It is worth considering what you want to capture in a photograph, and what light will be suitable for this. You can always try to rely on luck and capture the extraordinary views, which we are not able to predict.
