This photo was taken while on a walkthrough of Ocean Park in Manila while with my then girlfriend, now fiancé. While we were over there for work, we still had gotten enough out of the trip to make it our most memorable getaway in our lives.Time
This was taken in the middle of day in April. Enough light was peaking through the vines to cast some interesting light and shadows.Lighting
Looks like I already started to answer this early! Most of the pictures were quick snapshots, nothing framed, as I hate slowing anyone down. The light caught my eye enough to look up.Equipment
I was using my Sony NEX 6 at the time, which had served me quite well for a lot of travels and while I spent some time learning. Since then, I'm still learning! For the lens, I believe I'm using my old Zeiss 55mm lens.Inspiration
The light just happen to catch my eye and something struck me to look up! I thought it was interesting how it combined nature and abstract though to be honest I had no idea how well it came out until about a week later.Editing
It was a tricky exposure so I did adjust the exposure and the contrast to get it to pop.In my camera bag
I always want to travel light. I like prime lenses but I don't feel I'm patient enough to swap them around often. So with that, I carry my camera, a 55mm prime, and a 24-240 telephoto lens in my bag as well as a flexible travel tripod. I keep at home my wireless flash and my 35mm 1.4 super bright lens unless I know I plan on using them. Oh, I always carry 2 extra batteries and a charger which I can't forget!Feedback
I leaned from someone much smarter than me while I was walking through Galway in Ireland: Always look up! The architecture there is beautiful but a lot has been covered up. If you look up, however, most of the old stonework pops out. I have never forgotten that lesson!
