Raindrops look like tears... Just playing with some effects. Not sure what I think of it. :)

This photo was taken in my backyard. It was one of my first roses this year. I love roses, and their everlasting show of color all summer long.Time
This photo was taken in the late morning, after an overnight rain.Lighting
I wanted to accentuate the raindrops on this rose so I took several shots from different angles to try and capture the right light, and bring the raindrops to life.Equipment
My Samsung Galaxy 5 was used to get this shot as it allows for some great closeup shots. No flash was used as there was enough natural light.Inspiration
I'm always inspired by a refreshing rain, and I loved how the raindrops appeared as teardrops on this rose. I was hoping to bring them to life in this shot.Editing
My Samsung has some nice editing features for cropping and bringing out the sharpness, so I started there. Then I used an app called "Color Splash FX". I turned the photo unto a black and white, then added back splashes of color. I wasn't going for perfection, but kind of a raw, unpolished look to bring out the "tears".In my camera bag
I always have my Samsung Galaxy 5 with me for quick shots, but I also carry my Fujifilm Finepix S with me. I'm not a professional by any means, but I try to get the best results out of the equipment I have now. However, I'm looking forward to my next, upgraded camera with more features and options in the near future. **Update: I just got a new Canon EOS 1300D,and a whole set of lenses and filters. I am so excited to try some different shots!** :)Feedback
I'm always looking for a unique twist, or artistic side to my photos. I want people to feel like they can reach out and touch the object, or walk right into my picture. My advice to others wanting to achieve a similar effect is to have fun with your camera, and look for details that make your shot unique. I'm always thinking to myself when I see something intriguing, "That would be a great shot"! Don't be afraid to take lots of pictures, and play with different editing options. Eventually you'll get a few shots that are worth keeping, and sharing with others!
