It was not that bad, since it was in August. But you are right, it look's cold ;)

This photo was taken at the lake Kloental in Switzerland. One of the prettiest lakes in Switzerland, at least in my opinion.Time
For this image, one of my all time favorites, I had to get up at 5AM. The weather was far away from great, but I was glad to get startet. It was a 40 minutes drive to the lake and it was raining every now and then. As a "nice weather" photographer, this will make you think. Nevertheless I made it there and it was not raining. That photo was the 3rd I was taking on this 2nd of august 2015, it was at 5:59AM.Lighting
There was no special lighting from my side, mother nature was taking care of the light setup for me. She really dit a great job.Equipment
I was using a tripod for my Nikon D800, with my favorite 24-70mm f/2.8 lens (0.5sec and ISO 100 at 45mm) attached. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
A friend of mine was taking a picture of that lake in the wintertime. By seeing that picture I remembered beeing there with some good friends a long time ago. I really wanted to go there and get some shots all around the lake. It was still taking me about a half year go get myself together and go there. So far that was one of my best small photo trip. I really get a warm feeling inside me, thinking about that morning. That was a great decision to go to the lake.Editing
The post-processing of that photo was pretty easy. It was a nice shot straight out of the camera. I was processing the image in Lightroom only, with some basic correction's (temperature, lights, black and white). Plus, I was using a light gradation curve (+8/-8). After these adjustments, I believed that the image needs no further corrections. In my camera bag
At the time I was upgrading my gear from a Nikon D7000 to my beloved Nikon D800. I was immediately falling in love with the new camera. With limited ressources I bought the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. It was a recommendation of my good friend Alessandro, I loved it ever since. Later my gear got an upgrade with the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens and there is more on my wishinglist.Feedback
My advice would be, don't let the bad weather forecast stop you. And getting up, early in the morning, to take pictures is allways worth it. I enjoy beeing out in the nature when the sun is getting up. But one thing you have to check, is the water level at the time you want to go. There is nothing more frustrating then going to a spot and find out that the sea level dropped 2 meter.
