Location
In Foremost, Alberta during a break while I was working in that area.Time
It was about 14:30 with an overcast sky, which helped me to set the mood for this picture.Lighting
I really like blue skies and contrasts, but I must say that a cloudy day can be of great help when you want to have a better control of the light and capture an ominous sky like this one.Equipment
I used a Nikon 5200 and a sigma lens, no flash or tripod.Inspiration
I like old abandoned cars because they serve as a testimony of the inexorable pass of time. I was also lucky to find this truck in such a great location surrounded by green grass in contrast with and endless prairie. The combination of elements was definitively the inspiration.Editing
I do not like to edit too much my pictures because I feel nature is beautiful in its own right, and that is precisely what I want to capture. Extreme modifications may look nice sometimes, but I think it loses its magic. I do the post-processing with Lightroom enhancing colors and softening extremes in light (i.e shadows, highlights). In my camera bag
I only have the basic equipment in my bag, my camera, lens cleaning kit, extra battery and my tripod.Feedback
Alberta is a beautiful province full of contrasts, just driving in its lonely roads can take you to farms with old barns and old cars, there's always a surprise. I must say I was also lucky because it was on my way to the worksite that day. What can be more fun than explore in a road trip?
