I took this shot from a truck pull off on the side of the highway in Northampton Massachusetts.Time
This picture was taken right at sunrise. I was traveling with my partner to look for landscapes to shoot. The sun was just starting to come up.Lighting
The sun wax just starting to peek from the horizon.... I could see the colors just start to appear in the clouds thru the silhouette of the trees.Equipment
I was using my Canon camera, a canon 70-200 lens, tripod and cable release.Inspiration
Riding as a passenger gives a big advantage when looking at landscapes. A glance out the passenger side window at the moment the sun began to rise provided me with a spectacular view that I knew would only last for a few moments. We immediately pulled the car over and set up the tripod and camera. The clouds blazing with the red color from the sun was an “image” that needed to be captured.Editing
Not much really.... a little bit of saturation is about all.In my camera bag
My 24-70 lens, my 50mm prime ... cable release, external flash and extra camera batteries are the must have items in my bag.Feedback
Look at everything. There are small slices of beauty everywhere. Don’t miss an opportunity to capture a landscape image by not having your camera right next to you when riding in your car. Who would have thought that an image this beautiful was at a truck pull off on the highway?
