This photo was taken in my back yard. I started planting sun flowers for my kids when I realized I was more excited when a new one will open more than my kids were. I started looking for various colours after I saw a very interesting sunflower, that I had never seen before in a park. I keep planting them and I cannot stop taking pictures of them.Time
This is one of my favourite images. I have it on my phone as a background and I show it to everybody who show a bit of interest or is asking any questions about my work. I took this picture on a bright sunny August morning about three years ago when I noticed something magical in the way the light was shining on this flower that captured my attentionLighting
There was something that I could not explain about the light. I was trying to shoot everything around that was yellow and I just had to take the pictures. I think that I was trying to prove that what I was seeing was indeed magical.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon Rebel XT zoom lens 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM / Canon Rebel XT body.Inspiration
I just loves the light was showcasing the flower. When I saw the two bees making a quick stop on my favourite flower I knew my picture would turn into something really specialEditing
I am not a big fan of over processing. I just had bought Photoshop Elements 13 and I was experimenting. I adjusted the colours, brightnessband contrast then I applied the zoom burst effect. In my camera bag
I always have the Canon zoom lens 70-300mm 1.4-5.6 IS USM. This is my go to lens. I always go back to it. I also have a Canon body (my favourite brand). This picture was taken with the only Canon camera body I had at that time: Rebel XT.Feedback
My advice is to pay attention to the light! Time of the day and the angle the light comes down are also important. You can have a great composition but I think that the light actually takes a photo from great to extraordinary. You also need patience and great timing ( I needed some ) in order to catch both bees making a quick stop on the flower at the same time.
