Thank you everyone! I woke to all these messages of congratulations yet can't understand why so many at once. Am I missing something? Was I featured? Did they share my photo on a blog or something...im totally lost lol.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in lil ole Iola, Kansas USA.

Time

This photo was captured around 8:00 am CST.

Lighting

I chose the early morning softer side of the suns rays as to avoid the harsh afternoon light. There was no backlighting used for this shot. I am partial to about 7:20 am and about 7:30 pm CST for me to shoot for the suns best rays here in Kansas.

Equipment

I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 with no special lenses attached nor filters. I took advantage of the Leica zoom lens already built in. No flash was used and this shot was taken in my hands while lying on the ground.

Inspiration

This flower is one among many that is planted and cared for by a blind elderly lady with cancer. It amazes me daily to see her outside and working every morning, weather permitting. I tell her daily, "If only you can truly see how beautiful all your flowers are." I continue to shoot her beautiful flowers almost daily.

Editing

There was no post processing done to this photo besides the watermark.

In my camera bag

I carry just my camera with its hood and a simple tripod. That's it. Light is best for me. I use no additional lenses or filters with this camera, for now.

Feedback

Explore your camera. There are no settings listed for this photo for I simply switched to SCN and set it on the food setting, I then zoomed in through my viewfinder, and snapped the photo with complete ease. Natural lighting with this camera is captured in such a remarkable way due to the Leica lenses Panasonic used for this model. The food setting combined with the incredible zoom capabilities already built in to this wonderful camera give an incredible crisp clear macro shot virtually everytime.
