Behind The Lens

Location

In my bedroom. My youngest son was holding the pups and I had to have a snap of those adorable faces.

Time

I remember this was captured in the crisp cool morning of February. It was shortly after the pups were born and I wanted to capture their cute little faces before I was to re-home them later. I'm not much for the winter time so these puppies were an absolute delight to have that very cold winter in Kansas. Bundling them up seemed to comfort them when their Mom wasn't around to snuggle.

Lighting

I used the natural light in the room. I often find the best photos for my own pleasurable viewing is, natural or available lighting. This was a perfect morning to be able to capture these adorable pups in my well lit bedroom.

Equipment

This was shot on a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8. Handheld. No other equipment was involved. This was the closest camera to reach at the time and I had to have that photo. I'm now so glad it turned out as wonderfully as it did. The Lumix is an exceptional lens.

Inspiration

Look at those adorable faces. How could you not want a photo of those fur babies?

Editing

Yes..simple crop and that is it.

In my camera bag

The year I took this photo was 2016. Alot has changed in my bag now. I now keep a sd card wallet, a lens cloth, business cards, a thin and fat sharpie marker and pen. Lens caps, my Canon 5d Mark III and 70-200mm f2.8L USM lens. I also have a Canon rebel t6 with a 17-55mm f2.8 for my wide angle needs. I shoot live music photography, professionally, so this gear is always ready to go.

Feedback

Use your available lighting and wait until the sun comes slightly into your room..open a couple curtains wide and if it's too bright, use white sheer curtains to filter the sunlight.
