Location
The photo was taken at the Autoworld museum, in Brussels, Belgium, during the temporary exhibition "Italian Car Passion". In a room that was set up almost as a huge safe, there were 5 of the most wonderful (and most expensive) cars I have ever seen, including this Ferrari Laferrari!Time
Being an indoor photo, the time of the day is not very relevant, but the photo was taken in the early afternoon at the end of December 2015.Lighting
The lighting in the room was exceptionally good for this type of exhibition, and the walls covered with black curtains added to the effect.Equipment
I found too late that tripods were authorised, so I left mine at home :-( I used a Canon EOS 5D Mkiii, EF24-70mm f/2.8L II USM.Inspiration
The "Italian Car Passion" exhibition had a wonderful collection of Italian cars, from Fiat 500 to Ferraris or Lamborghinis. As the cars in the museum change regularly for temporary exhibitions, I like to go there often. The building itself, the way in which cars are exhibited and the good lighting always make for good photo possibilities. But this was a once-in-a-lifetime possibility to photograph some amazing cars and I used it extensively...Editing
I use Lightroom for post-processing. In this case, just played a bit with clarity, contrast and white balance, to get the deep red that I saw there. In this particular photo I did a bit more, which was to darken one bit of the background and "hide" one person who was standing behind the car.In my camera bag
I usually carry my Canon EOS 5D Mkiii and three lenses, the 24-70, a 70-300 and a Macro 100, a couple of ND filters and a tripod.Feedback
If you like photographing cars and live near Brussels or come here for a visit, go to Autoworld. The lighting conditions are generally much better than what you find in any other car museum I have visited. And do take a tripod, they allow it and that way you can go down in ISO (this one was done with ISO 2000) and play with depth of field as much as you want.
