I was hiking the the Olympic Rainforest in Washington state, and it pours heavy rain there. It was a miserable day. The ground was so muddy it would pull my boots off. The vines in the bushes felt like razor wire against my body. The rain was relentless and I felt physically and emotionally defeated. I just wanted to go home.

I came into a clearing, and suddenly the rain stop. And the shadows in the trees were moving, I could hear rustling in the leaves and bushes. Then all of these magnificent Elk emerged from the darkness, so quietly and it was so serene.

We just stayed there starring at each other for a few minutes. Then they disappeared back into the forrest and the rain started to fall again.

It was one of those moments where it confirmed that there is nothing else I want to do besides being a photographer.
