Just minimum edition. Conversion to black and white with channel mixer - but only the red channel remains (100%, 0%, 0%). I like to make simple conversions, based on the image details. Then, some sharpening and curves edition (slight contrast increase, palladium process emulation). All done with the free tool GIMP!In my camera bag
Camera with all-rounder 18-200mm, then some specific lens if I think I will use it. Typically, either a 50mm f1.4 or a 10-18mm zoom. I like to shoot with day light, so no flash. Basic filters (UV, CPL, ND8) and a spare battery - I don't need anything else!Feedback
For this kind of capture, the only advice is "good luck". It was a fresh, foggy morning, so there was almost nobody there. I was there, and "saw" the picture, so I took it. But it was just a matter of luck - I did not know I would find that pier (also no ships) Always carry your camera with you. You never know when can you come accross a nice scene to capture!
