Location
I live in a nice little valley and I took this shot by a nearby creek. I climbed down next to a bridge and saw the reflection and tried different attempts at exposure to make it look how I wanted it to.Time
It was the middle of the day and I was on one my usual walks taking photos.Lighting
I actually flipped the image so if you rotate it 180 degress you will notice it was flipped because the water/reflection is darker then the sky.Equipment
I just used my Fuji Film X-A1 with a 16-50mm lens. No tripod or filters.Inspiration
I loved the reflection of the water and the the balance of dark and light in the image is what made me think of its name.Editing
Besides flipping it I didn't add a single filter. Techniqually I used a black and white filter in the camera but I never shot this photo in colour. In my camera bag
My portrait SLR which is a ASAHI Pentax with a 200mm lens, my Pentax MZ-10 with a 28-80mm lens for any odd jobs, my Ikona Zeiss folding 120 camera for landscapes and now, since the fuji film x-a1 had a factory issue my new Fuji Film E-1Feedback
Bring a tripod so you can take multiple exposures and create a HDR. I wish I did this so the photo would have had a nice clear and bright reflection but a nice dark and textured sky. Also I retook this shot on film since I don't only shoot digital and the result were pretty much the same on Ilford XP2 plus black and white film.
