Behind The Lens

It was my birthday and I had made cupcakes to celebrate - my husband had given me a new lens for my camera and I was keen to try it out but not until the cupcake had been eatenTime
This was taken in the evening in my kitchen at home - we had had a very nice day out in the cotswolds and in the evening we celebrated with cupcakes and a glass of fizz so its amazing the picture turned out as well as it did - when I saw the outcome I was very pleased with the image - I am a novice and learning all the timeLighting
I didnt do anything special with the lighting it was down to the settings on the camera and the lighting in my kitchenEquipment
I use a Canon EOS 100D and used my new sigma 105mm 2.8 and a tripodInspiration
I am not sure where my expertise in photography lies yet as I am only a year in to my photography journey - I like the quirky and unusual rather than landscape so I am practicing with Depth of Field and one of the ways I would like to go is macro and possibly food photographyEditing
I didnt do much post processing on this image only a crop and a slight adjustment to the lighting and contrast in photoshop elementsIn my camera bag
I only have a small camera bag but pack a lot in to it (I think my next birthday present will need to be a larger bag) but I have my Canon EOS 100D body and carry a standard Canon zoom lens - a Sigma 105mm 2.8 lens and a Canon 50mm lens - the latter one I am using most of the time as I get brilliant depth of field pictures - I also have a small table top tripod - I also have a 70mm crystal ball as I love the images through this and you never know when the opportunity will be there to use it . A lens cleaning cloth is a must plus a camera rainmate just in case it rains also an emergency poncho for me and a plastic carrier bag to sit on if the ground is damp as well as notebook and pen and mobile phoneFeedback
