Location
This photo was taken at a very beautiful tulip farm in woodburn, Oregon. I learned a lot about photography via google, and close friends.Time
This photo was taken at sunset. This particular tulip farm is located about 30 minutes from where I live. Earlier in the day, I noticed a few clouds, and thought that all of these lovely clouds could quite possibly make for a beautiful sunset. I feel fortunate to live so close to me able to spontaneously be able to drive to this particular spot.Lighting
I was hoping the clouds from earlier in the day would make for a great sunset. As the sun was setting the lighting was just getting better and better. Add in the pop of color from all of the lovely tulips and you have this great burst of color, and light.Equipment
For this photo, I used my usual camera, a Nikon d3300. I also used an 18-200mm lens, which is great, because it is able to focus on several different points. I also used my lightweight Sony tripod for extra stability.Inspiration
These tulips are around for a very limited time. I really wanted to showcase the various colors of the tulips. I feel as though I got very lucky with the way that the sun was setting, to enhance the vivid colors of the tulips.Editing
I typically shoot my photos in raw form. I then use lightroom to do as minimum amount of editing as possible. I used the dehaze effect to help soften the brightness of the sunIn my camera bag
I use a Nikon d3300 body. I typically carry 2 lenses. I upgraded to a Nikon 18-300mm lens, my 2ND lens is a wide angle tokina 11-16mm. I always carry some form of tripod. I have 2. A proline tripod, and a super small lightweight Sony.Feedback
I always try to pay attention to the weather. The moment I walk out of the door, I look up into the sky and notice the clouds. (If there are any) ultimately the sky is your canvas.
