While doing "A Day In The Bicentennial" project I came across over 70 homeless veterans around the capital. This scene was on Pennsylvania Ave. & "I" Street --and the only surviving image from the series on them.

The brass and co-ordinators of the project were not very pleased about the images; however, I told them, "You said to shoot this 'Day In The Life' by what the city showed me--this is what your city showed me, gentlemen!"
