Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during an annual Warbird airshow held near my home in East Central Florida. The TICO Warbird Airshow has been a reoccurring event here since 1977.

Time

The image was made early morning of the first day of the show.

Lighting

The existing lighting conditions were subdued due to an overcast sky with low contrast.

Equipment

Image made with Canon 7D (first generation). Cannon 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 EF Lens. Handheld with some fill-flash from A Canon Speedlite 580EX.

Inspiration

I have been photographing aviation for over 30 years. I like the unusual position from the rear of the aircraft as it is not typically a position that most photographers would shoot from.

Editing

Very minor post processing was done to this image. Some minor sharpening, and white balancing only.

In my camera bag

Current equipment include: 1. Canon 7D 2. Canon 28-135mm 3. Canon 10-22mm 4. Canon 300mm f4 5. Canon 600EX Speedlite

Feedback

Low angles for this type of aircraft (Vought F4F-4 Corsair) provide a more dramatic image.
