Nagasaki , Japan- The Peace Statue was erected by the citizens of Nagasaki on the 10th anniversary of the deviation of the city by the atomic bomb. The statues right hand points to the sky to the threat of nuclear weapons while the left arm is stretched symbolizing tranquility.
This photo is located at The Peace Statue .In front of this statue is a group of school children who have come to learn about this historical spot. In the photo -The youth of these children with their optimism is hope for the future of the world.

In 1968, my father took pictures at this same spot, while on leave with the US Navy in Vietnam. I don't know if we've learned much since then, but neat to see that statue again.
