Location
This photo was taken at the Gulf of Finland near Saint Petersburg, Russia. The picture was shot during a boat trip aboard an old yacht.Time
The photo was taken in August 2014. It was the late afternoon. The wind was weak at the beginning of the trip, but later it was getting stronger. In the evening there was a storm.Lighting
The weather was very changeable that day. At times the sun peeped out from behind the clouds. The sun was going down, the yacht was heading west so that the surface of the sea reflected bright sunlight.Equipment
It was Canon 350D with Canon EF 10-22mm f/2.8 1:3.5-4.5 lens. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
Traveling on a yacht is an adventure in itself. The sky and lighting were very good for photography. Interestingly, the wooden yacht was 80 years old, but it was in excellent condition. Unfortunately, I can add that the captain of this yacht died from COVID-19 last year...Editing
In this particular case, I used just the curves. In my camera bag
I had my camera always with me. When I’m traveling or walking in the means to take some photos, I have two lenses (zoom and wide-angle), sometimes two cameras, three lenses, and a tripod.Feedback
What can I say here? Use any possibility to travel by car, by boat, by train... But take care and stay safe.
