The national park service digs holes in various areas of the canyon so water can collect for the wildlife. This is to prevent larger game from breaking down the fences of native farmers who live and farm in the canyon. This small watering hole is just one of many that filled up with water from a rain storm the day before our trip into the canyon.

Beautiful capture of this! I love the way the water is just barely rippling....it give the picture movement but still allowing the viewer to see the detail in the reflection. Great eye!

There was not much water when we were there, but that made it easier to get around, although I would have loved an opportunity for a nice reflection.
